Looking at the fate of Man
I've often wondered why
A man will laugh when things go wrong
Yet, he never seems to cry

Is that the way the world was made
Is that how it should be
If when again a man will learn
A new life makes him free

Looking at the fate of Man
Why does he never try
He speaks of Death with eager words
Yet, he's afraid to die

Is that the way the world was made
Is that how it should be
If when again a man will learn
A new life makes him free

Looking at the fate of Man
He reaches for the sky
But, when he speaks with wistful words
What lingers in his eye

I've looked upon the fate of Man
And now, his world is through
The lessons that he thought were many
Had been just a few

Is that the way the world was made
Is that how it should be
If when again a man will learn
A new life makes him free
