Sometimes he makes us wait for what seems a long, long time
We're afraid he's turned his ears from all our prayers
But, when the time is right, I know God will be close by
For he heard, Jesus heard
Long ago, in days gone by, people prayed to be set free
From the bondage they were in in Pharaoh's land
And when the time was right, God sent Moses to decree
Let them go, let them go
In the garden of Gethsemane when Jesus knelt to pray
He implored his Father not to let him die
But, in the final time, Jesus prayed, your will not mine
So he died, Jesus died
Now, in this world today, there are many people bound
By the rules and regulations of its sin
But, in prayer to God, you'll find if you ask him to come in
You'll be free, really free
For he heard
Jesus heard
