Miss Butterfly, please, spread your wings
And take me to a bird that sings so sweetly
I hope that you will find your way
Instead of being led astray discretely

Miss Butterfly, I love you
Will you please come home to me
Miss Butterfly, I need you
You know that you need be

Miss Butterfly, you lay your eggs
Upon the plant -- nutmeg-and-clover
I try to find some way to you
But, only find that I am too rolled over
