WALK IN SILENCE

There is a long line of humans walking down the street
And they say no words to whomever they meet
Upon their faces is a look serene
And I can't tell just what it means
When they walk
Ne'er to talk
When they walk in silence

There is a long line of humans walking down the street
And they ne'er stop walking through this torrid heat
Alone, they tread through a barren land
I can give them no help with my useless hand
As they walk
They don't talk
As they walk in silence

No one can fathom what this line all means
No one can tell why they look so serene
Why they walk
Ne'er to talk
Why they walk in silence

There is a long line of humans walking down the street
And they say no words, and they do not greet
Whomever they chance, they happen to see
And I know this can't be happening to me
As I walk
Ne'er to talk
As I walk in silence
