Deva Primal
White Swan Music

By far, this is the most beautiful album of mantras I've heard. Deva's voice and the accompanying music transport the listener to realms of inspiration and devotion with their uplifting sounds.

Three songs in particular touched me.

Om Asatoma is a mantra best sung in transitional periods of life; this one -- done acappella style -- begins with a single voice, then a duet, then a trio proclaiming "Take us from the false to the truth, from darkness to light, from poison to nectar".

Sammasati, a lightly jazzed-up piece, is named after a meditation retreat in Costa rica.

Yemaya Assessu is an African mantra that celebrates the femininity of women and Mother Nature.
